Welcome!
We are excited that you have
chosen to visit the Vaughn Forest
web site and especially glad
you have chosen to visit our
adult ministries area. We seek
daily to guide individuals to
meet Christ in a personal relationship
and then to begin the growth
process toward maturing as a
believer.
Our purpose
is to tell people about Jesus,
guide them from where they are
in their spiritual journey,
and lead them on the path to
experiencing a More Abundant
Life. This is done through a
variety of ministries that are
designed to apply to every area
of life.
We believe
that growing as a believer involves
not only learning God’s Word
but also finding your personal
area of service and allowing
God to use your unique gifts.
Life-Changing Bible Fellowship:
Fellowships are provided for all adults
on Sunday at 8:00 and 9:30 AM. They come in all shapes and
sizes: coed, men, women, singles,
single parents, and a variety of needs-based
classes that exist to provide everyone
with a place of belonging. Our goals
are to study the Bible together and
then apply the lessons to our daily
lives in order to find more fulfillment
in life, build better homes and families,
help others discover the joy found
in the Christian life. To this end,
each class is organized with a purpose
of reaching, teaching, ministering,
and serving. Developing friendships
within the class enables us to better
connect not only with our class but
with the church body as a whole. Weekly
studies in the Bible give direction
to class members as we make the various
decisions that will change our lives.
DiscipleshipLife:
We provide opportunities for each
individual to develop and grow in
their walk with Christ. Classes come
together for a time of worship in
our Christian Growth Center at 5:55
PM. Following the worship time class
members will move to their classroom
for a time of study that concludes
at 7:10 PM. Childcare and learning
opportunities for children of all
ages are provided during this same
time. DiscipleshipLife provides courses
each fall and spring that assists
in the maturing process for each believer.
Courses are limited to twelve people
in order that attention can be given
to the spiritual development of each
person.
DISCOVERY:
This two-day course, led by our ministerial
staff, is a part of the membership
process here at Vaughn Forest. The
class meets on Wednesday nights,
usually once a month.
Guests of Vaughn Forest are also encouraged
to attend. Information about the purpose,
organization, and ministries of Vaughn
Forest is given to those attending
to better help them grasp the vision
of the church.
Women’s
Ministry:
This exciting ministry brings the
women of Vaughn Forest together for
the purpose of reaching, teaching,
and mentoring one another. Wednesday
night and Thursday morning Bible studies
are provided through this ministry
to help women discover more of what
God would have them to be and do.
Retreats, conferences, and fellowships
are planned to give the women of Vaughn
Forest a well rounded program in order
that they may become kingdom builders
in their home, church, and community.
Men’s Ministry:
The men of Vaughn Forest are committed
to being encouragers for one another.
While reaching out to other men in
our community with the gospel of Jesus
Christ each man of the church is vital
to helping us reach men, businessmen,
fathers, sportsmen, and others. Our
men meet for supper and a time of
inspiration once each quarter. February
is reserved for our annual Wild Game
Supper. This event brings some 600
men and boys from all around the Montgomery
area into the church for a night of
great food, fellowship, and worship.
Many of our men are involved in accountability
groups that help them to develop their
spiritual lives together. Bible studies
are available on Wednesday evenings
to help men understand their place
in the home, family, and community.
Trips to “Promise Keepers,” building
projects, and ministry projects around
the church, keep our men active and
growing together. Each Tuesday men
gather in downtown Montgomery at the
cafeteria in the RSA Commerce building
for a time of study, inspiration,
and fellowship. We begin the study
each week at 12:05 PM and conclude
by 12:55 PM. Guest and members alike
are invited to attend.
Anchors
Ministry
Senior
Adults: The senior adults
at Vaughn Forest have adopted the name
Anchors. Their purpose
is to lift up Jesus in all that they
do. Our senior adults are extremely
productive as they work in the nursery,
make ministry related phone calls,
help in the church office, fill leadership
positions, serve as greeters, sing
in the choir, train in evangelism,
visit hospitals, and much more!
They enjoy friendships, find new interests,
take fun trips, study God’s Word,
and participate in monthly luncheons.
Senior adults are loved, valued, and
appreciated for the godly examples
they are setting for the younger generations
at Vaughn Forest.
Singles
Ministry
Young Professional
Singles: Young professionals
are given Biblical direction for their
careers, relationships, and personal
growth so that they might honor Christ
with their lives. Young professionals
find themselves facing overwhelming
demands, alluring temptations, and
mounting pressures as they start out
in their chosen fields. Their
character, lifestyles, and relationships
are affected by how they respond to
these situations. Biblical truths
give the young professionals a solid
foundation to handle life’s challenges.
These truths will be discovered in
the Sunday morning Bible study
classes, worship services, Wednesday
night Discipleshiplife seminars,
and home Bible studies. Young professionals
enjoy a support system of their peers
through close friendships, socials,
out-of-town-trips, lunches,
leadership training and more.
Adult
Singles and Single Again:
Vaughn Forest is committed to helping singles
learn and fulfill God’s purpose in
their lives. Singles are encouraged
to grow in their spiritual lives and
to use their spiritual gifts for God’s
glory. Single again individuals can
find a support system to pray for
them and nurture them through difficult
times. Never-married, single
again, and single parents can be involved
in Bible study opportunities, social
activities, mission projects, sporting
events, discipleship groups, and fun
trips in the singles ministry
at Vaughn Forest. Their purpose
is to make a splash for Jesus in Montgomery!
