Vaughn Forest Church's LIFE Counseling Ministry provides Christian counseling for members of Vaughn Forest and for people of the community. Individual, marriage, and family counseling are offered for personal growth, relational conflicts, marital problems, work problems,parent-child conflicts, major life transitions, grief, divorce issues,stress, anger management, personal crises, and spiritual concerns.Supportive, supplementary counseling is offered for clinical depression,anxiety, phobias, post-traumatic stress, substance abuse, addictions and other severe emotional distresses only in conjunction with mental health-care professionals and physicians.

Counseling sessions are generally scheduled once a week. The cost of the counseling sessions is based on income and ranges from $30 to $60 with checks made out to Vaughn Forest Church. Vaughn Forest members are given three free visits.

Dr. Charles Hobson is counseling pastor for the LIFE Counseling Ministry. Charles holds a Doctor of Education degree in Psychology and Counseling from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
